PARIS | More than 3,300 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in France in the past 24 hours, an unprecedented increase since May, according to figures from Public Health France posted online Saturday evening.

According to these figures, 3310 new positive diagnoses were recorded as well as 17 new foci of clustered cases. The one-week positivity rate continues to increase to 2.6%.
The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care, roughly stable since the end of July, has increased slightly, to 376 (+9 compared to the figures published on Friday by the Directorate General of Health which communicates, in general, the results daily).
France now has 30,409 people who have died from COVID-19 since the start of the epidemic, including 19,904 in hospitals, according to Public Health France.
