Four residents of the Pskov region were found guilty of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border on a large scale by prior conspiracy. This “MK in Pskov” was informed by the press service of the North-West Customs Administration.
So, at the customs post “Ubylinka” the employees of the Pskov customs found in the car going from Pskov to Lithuania, almost 50 thousand packs of cigarettes. The cost of illegally transported products amounted to more than 5 million 186 thousand rubles.
The unmarked cigarettes were packed in empty paper bags and disguised as charcoal packages for export. At the Russian-Latvian border, customs officers confiscated smuggled cigarettes from violators.
The perpetrators will be imprisoned for 3 years, while the court ruled to consider the punishment conditional with a probationary period of 2 years.
