Ex-police officer accused of death of African American Floyd, transferred to prison

Charged with the murder of African American George Floyd, ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Shovin went to the Minnesota State Correctional Facility. This was reported by CNN TV channel.

As noted by Sarah Fitzgerald, spokeswoman for the Minnesota Department of Corrections, Chauvin was taken to the Oak Park Heights facility at 4:55 pm local time as a result of his conviction.

The correctional facility is located in Stillwater, Minnesota, approximately 25 miles east of downtown Minneapolis.

Earlier, on March 29, in the United States began the trial of the accused of the murder of Floyd. The jury found Chauvin guilty on three counts, including second and third degree murder. He can receive up to 40 years in prison.
