“This year, the agricultural support fund is 1 billion 100 million lei, with an increase of 200 million. We talked with colleagues from the government, and about 300 million lei will be allocated additionally from our own funds. Of course, this will be the necessary support for all categories of affected crops, ”the head of state said.

Igor Dodon also said that the authorities have enlisted the support of external partners to obtain funds to support farmers.

“We turned to our external partners. We hope to receive diesel fuel as a gift from the Russian Federation. We also decided to apply for a special loan from the World Bank. We decided to open a special account, where everyone can come with the support of those affected by the drought, ”the president said.

The head of state added that blocking roads is not a way out of the situation.

We remind you that the agricultural situation, support for local farmers and the epidemiological situation in the country were the most important topics discussed at the last meeting of the ruling PSRM-PDM coalition with the participation of Prime Minister Ion Chicu and President Igor Dodon.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that the executive branch is working on a final assessment of the damage in this sector and will later provide additional support to farmers.

On Tuesday, as a result of a dialogue between the deputies of the PSRM, PDM, PDS, PPAP, a working group was created to find solutions for farmers.
