Russia may be denied admission to the tender for the construction of a new power unit at the Dukovany NPP in the Czech Republic. This was announced by the Prime Minister of this European country, Karel Havlicek. He stressed that this will happen if the special services prove the involvement of the Russian special services in the explosions at an ammunition depot near the city of Zlin in 2014.

Czech counterintelligence has long been insisting on the removal of Russian companies from the tender. The special services believe that this poses a threat to the country’s national security.

At the end of March, the main applicants for the construction of the power unit were determined. These are the Russian corporation Rosatom, the American Westinghouse, the French EDF and the South Korean KHNP. The contract value is 6 billion euros. The tender will be held after the parliamentary elections in the country in early October.
