California Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein is set to step down as senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Politico reported, citing sources on Monday, Nov.23.

According to the publication, the 87-year-old woman has faced criticism from the progressive wing of Democrats for praising Republican Lindsay Graham for her good hearing in the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Amy Connie Barrett.

Senate Democratic minority leader Chuck Schumer said he had a “long and serious” conversation with Feinstein about her behavior.

On November 16, it was reported that Emily Murphy, who is to officially announce the President-elect of the United States, is looking for a new job.

According to the ABC television company, this act can be regarded as an indirect recognition of the defeat of the incumbent President Donald Trump in the elections and the upcoming termination of the work of his administration.

The US presidential election was held on November 3. Counting is still ongoing, but Democratic candidate Joe Biden has already announced his victory. The current US President Trump has not yet admitted defeat. Nevertheless, on November 23, the General Services Administration (GSA) of the United States notified Biden’s headquarters of its readiness to begin the transfer of power in the country. The recommendation to act in accordance with the protocols for the transfer of power to the head of GSA, Emily Murphy, was given by Donald Trump himself.
