Acting Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev said that riot police in Khabarovsk last Saturday suppressed an unauthorized rally due to the actions of provocateurs, of whom there are “a lot” among the demonstrators.
As the acting head of the region noted, the law enforcement officers acted within the framework of the legislation, despite the provocations. Degtyarev noted that we live in the 21st century, in which anyone can see what happened and immediately assess what is happening. According to the Acting Governor, there are a lot of provocateurs among the protesters who are not satisfied that the protest is being held peacefully. “The insults to the police, which are visible on the records, the transition to personalities, threats and broken tents” became the reason for the suppression of the action, said the acting head of the region.
He clarified that everyone has the right to expression of opinion, including political, but within the framework of the law. According to the politician, all law enforcement officers on Saturday in Lenin Square were local. They acted professionally and in accordance with the law, concluded Degtyarev.
On October 10, officers of the National Guard for the first time suppressed an unauthorized rally on Lenin Square in Khabarovsk.
