More than 1,300 positive tests have been thrown in the UK after a lab error was discovered, a report released on Saturday said.

“A problem with a batch of test chemicals meant the test results were zero,” a National Health Service (NHS) spokesperson said according to the New York Post.
“Quick action was taken to notify those affected and we asked them to take another test and continue to self-contain if they showed symptoms,” he also added.
The report from the British Department of Health and Social Affairs revealed that a total of 1,311 people were initially tested positive between November 19 and 23, the American daily said.
This is not the first malfunction in Britain’s COVID-19 testing system, which has come under heavy criticism in recent months.
In September, more than 15,000 positive test results were notably missing from the NHS records for several days, delaying the search for contact cases.
