Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Far East Yuri Trutnev fell ill with coronavirus. This was announced on August 12 by the assistant to the politician Timur Chernyshev, reports TASS.

It is noted that Trutnev was tested for coronavirus before traveling to the Far East as part of the visit to the region of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. At the moment, the Deputy Prime Minister’s trip to the Far East is being postponed.

According to Chernyshev, now Yuri Trutnev is self-isolating. The decision on whether the Deputy Prime Minister will continue to take part in the visit program will depend on the results of the next coronavirus tests. In case of positive results for COVID-19, Trutnev will take part in the event in an online format.

On August 13, it was reported that the head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, arrived in the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, from which his week-long working trip to the Far East will begin.

As part of the trip, which will last until August 18, the prime minister will visit four Far Eastern regions – Chukotka, Kamchatka Krai, Magadan and Amur regions.
