Chinese hackers have stolen information from Spanish centers that are developing a vaccine against the new coronavirus. Writes about this on Friday, September 18, the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

During a seminar organized the day before by the Association of European Journalists, the director of the Spanish National Intelligence Center of the Kingdom of Paz Esteban López warned of a “qualitative and quantitative” increase in cyberattacks during quarantine.

Hackers are targeting sectors such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare, she said. Also, cybercriminals have targeted laboratories working to find a vaccine against COVID-19.

Attacks on computer systems have occurred in several countries that are competing in the race to create a cure for a new infection, she said. As the head of the intelligence service added, the relevant secret services are sharing information to discourage cybercriminals.

As Esteban Lopez noted, Spain was attacked from China. At the same time, the sources that commented on this statement did not disclose the importance of the stolen information and its nature.

In July, Western countries issued new charges against Moscow: according to them, hackers allegedly connected with the Russian special services attacked scientific centers that are developing a vaccine against coronavirus.
