A mother was arrested Saturday morning in Los Angeles, California, after fleeing her apartment where her three young children were found stabbed.
The police were called at around 9:30 a.m. to the scene of the crime by the grandmother of the children aged six months, two years and three years. They then discovered the young victims who had been stabbed, reported on Saturday. Los Angeles Times.
Authorities, however, have not confirmed the cause of death and have given no reason for the killings.
The mother, Liliana Carrillo, has been identified as the main suspect in this case and has been taken into custody in Tulare County. She was arrested after a long police chase during which she allegedly stole a van, said the American daily.
“These are moments that we carry throughout our careers. […] It’s hard to deal with that as a police officer, ”Los Angeles Police Lt. Raul Joel said, according to the outlet.
Several people in the neighborhood said they were shocked by the news, some admitting that there are security concerns in the neighborhood.
“Who does that to innocent children?” They did not ask to be born ”, testified in particular to the Los Angeles Times one of the residents of the neighborhood.
Investigators from the Robbery Division and the Juvenile Division will take care of the case, Los Angeles police confirmed on their Twitter account in the afternoon.
