Russian athlete Alexander Bolshunov lost his leadership in skiathlon at the World Cup stage in Lahti in Finland due to a fall. This was announced on Saturday, January 23, by the REN TV channel.

It is noted that the skier was in the group of leaders, but after the fall he was able to take only 5th place, losing 20.9 seconds to the Norwegian Emil Iversen.

The Norwegian skier also confirmed that the fall did not happen on purpose.

The stage of the World Cup in Lahti takes place from 23 to 24 January.

On the same day, it became known that all the leading places in the race were taken by Norwegian athletes. Skier Emil Iversen took first place in the skiathlon. Iversen won with a score of 1 hour 10 minutes 18.4 seconds, Sure Rete came second, Paal Golberg came third.
