US President Joe Biden announced Thursday that the target of 100 million COVID-19 vaccinations during the first 100 days of his term would be reached on Friday, several weeks early.

“By the 58th day of my mandate, we will have reached my goal of 100 million injections,” he said, referring to his campaign pledge. “We are way ahead of our schedule, but there is still a long way to go,” he added. “Now is the time for optimism, but we must not relax,” he insisted.
