US President Joseph Biden said that the country’s economic crisis is deepening. He stressed that urgent action is needed to combat it.

Earlier, the head of the National Economic Council of the White House, Brian Dees, said at a briefing that if the economy is not stimulated now, the country will descend into a deeper financial hole. Deese added that the US is short of 10 million jobs. In the last week alone, 900,000 people applied for unemployment benefits for the first time.

One of the steps the US government will take to support its citizens is to provide food assistance to low-income families. Further steps to overcome the financial crisis have not yet been announced.
