Biden and Trudeau also discussed the fight against coronavirus infection, economic recovery, climate change, as well as cooperation between countries in the Arctic.
At the same time, the Canadian Prime Minister expressed his disappointment with the US decision to block the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. It was supposed that it will allow to deliver from Canada more than 800 thousand barrels of oil per day to refineries in the American states of Texas and Louisiana. The length of the pipeline was to be 1.9 thousand kilometers.
The construction of the pipeline was supported by the administration of former US President Donald Trump, but Joe Biden signed a decree shortly after taking office as head of state that reversed this decision.
