US President Joe Biden in a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed to meet next month. This was announced by the representative of the Canadian Prime Minister Cameron Ahmad on Saturday, January 23.

“The two leaders have agreed to meet next month to advance the important work of renewing the close and strong friendship between Canada and the United States,” according to a press release published in Twitter

Biden and Trudeau also discussed the fight against coronavirus infection, economic recovery, climate change, as well as cooperation between countries in the Arctic.

At the same time, the Canadian Prime Minister expressed his disappointment with the US decision to block the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. It was supposed that it will allow to deliver from Canada more than 800 thousand barrels of oil per day to refineries in the American states of Texas and Louisiana. The length of the pipeline was to be 1.9 thousand kilometers.

The construction of the pipeline was supported by the administration of former US President Donald Trump, but Joe Biden signed a decree shortly after taking office as head of state that reversed this decision.
