The star couple shared this sum between three associations working to rescue those affected by this tragedy while the reports show no less than 137 dead and more than 5,000 injured.
“We are both deeply concerned for the people of Beirut and the devastation they have been facing over the past few days,” said George and Amal Clooney, the latter born in the Lebanese capital, in a statement released by Entertainment Tonight. We found three charities providing essential aid on the ground: Lebanese Red Cross, Impact Lebanon, and Baytna Baytak. We will give 100,000 dollars to these three structures and we hope that others will help as they can. ”
Earlier this year, the couple had already agreed to a donation of 1.3 million dollars to support global aid against the coronavirus pandemic.
