The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, instructed to strengthen inspections of catering establishments during the New Year holidays. The order was made during a meeting with members of the city government.
The officials were also instructed to strengthen control over the observance of sanitary rules in urban public transport.
According to current regulations, restaurants, cafes and bars of St. Petersburg can only work until 23:00. From December 25 to December 29 and from January 4 to January 10, catering is allowed to receive visitors from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. In the period from December 30 to January 3, catering can only be taken away.
