The Azerbaijani armed forces are occupying new strongholds on the line of contact in Karabakh, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
It is noted that the country’s Armed Forces are successfully moving in the designated directions.
“The troops of the Azerbaijan Army seized new strongholds and carried out a cleanup of the territory from the enemy,” the message says on October 2.
The department also spoke about the destruction of “a significant amount of manpower and military equipment of the enemy.”
In particular, according to Baku, the losses of Armenia since September 27 amounted to 230 tanks and other armored vehicles, 250 artillery installations and mortars, 38 air defense systems, one S-300 air defense system and 10 command posts.
Yerevan does not confirm these data.
At the same time, the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reported that Azerbaijan lost more than 3 thousand people during the escalation and hundreds of pieces of equipment.
Another aggravation in the NKR took place on September 27. Armenia and Azerbaijan blamed each other for shelling and death of civilians.
Russia, France, the United States and the UN called on the parties to a ceasefire and a peaceful settlement. At the same time, Turkey and Ukraine expressed support for Baku. Ankara has promised any assistance requested by Azerbaijan.
