The average salary of teachers in Russia was less than 31 thousand rubles at the end of the second quarter of 2020, experts from the Avito Rabota analytical center found out. The research results are at the disposal of Izvestia.
Moscow teachers get a noticeably higher score than their colleagues from the regions. Their average salary turned out to be 51.6 thousand rubles.
Teachers from St. Petersburg receive an average of 35.1 thousand rubles. Yekaterinburg teachers closed the top three with an average salary of 29.8 thousand rubles.
In Kazan, the average teacher’s salary is 29 thousand rubles, in Perm – 27.2 thousand, in Omsk – 26.9 thousand rubles.
Teachers in Irkutsk earn 26.5 thousand rubles on average, in Krasnoyarsk – 26.2 thousand, in Barnaul – 26 thousand, in Krasnodar – 25.9 thousand rubles.
According to Avito Rabota, teachers from Voronezh receive the least amount in Russia – an average of 21.7 thousand rubles, Novosibirsk – 21.1 thousand and Volgograd – 20.6 thousand rubles.
According to quarterly research by the center, education consistently turns out to be one of the lowest paid spheres.
In this regard, experts asked the Russians whether they consider it necessary to pay extra for teachers for additional workload during work during a pandemic.
“On a remote site, the professional load increases, so employers should think about rewarding employees who work almost around the clock,” said Dmitry Puchkov, category manager of the analytical center.
The majority of respondents (61%) considered the need to warn about masks, to closely monitor the health of students, to remind them of the need to constantly wash their hands and conduct training sessions as a sufficient reason for additional payments to teachers, follows from the survey results.
At the same time, 33% believe that this is not such a large amount of work to increase payments, and 6% of the respondents were undecided.
Earlier on August 12, the Russian government approved the distribution of funds to the regions for monthly payments to teachers for class leadership.
The draft order implies the payment of a monthly remuneration to teachers for classroom leadership in the amount of 5 thousand rubles from September 1, 2020.
