Average receipts for purchasing New Year’s gifts for children increased by 15-20% compared to last year. This is evidenced by the data of the OFD Platform from December 1 to 15, which Izvestia got acquainted with.
The top 3 children’s gifts by frequency of purchases included candy sets, toys and cardboard table sets. The average bill for sweet gifts (500 g) increased by 16% to 576 rubles. The number of their purchases jumped by 107%, that is, twice.
The average bill for toys in the form of cartoon characters or New Year’s characters increased by 17%, as a result it reached 840 rubles. The number of purchases of these products increased by 47%.
The average bill for board game sets made of cardboard increased by 21% and amounted to almost 1.3 thousand rubles, and the number of purchases jumped four times – by 310%.
Also among the popular purchases, the company named sets for creativity and drawing. The average purchase price increased by 45% to 2 thousand rubles, the number of purchases – by 210%, that is, three times.
The number of spontaneous, impulsive purchases is decreasing, consumers more and more often purposefully choose gifts, plus they tend to buy them in a better performance, a representative of the OFD Platform told Izvestia. As a result, more expensive goods are included in the average bill. The company also stressed that the share of imports is high in the segment of children’s toys, so after the currency jump, they have risen in price.
