Over the past day, 337 people have died from coronavirus infection in Iran. This was announced on Monday, October 19, by the head of the public relations department of the country’s Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari, ISNA reports.
In Iran, this daily death toll from the coronavirus is the highest since the start of the epidemic in the state.
“Over the past 24 hours, 337 patients have died in Iran, and the total number of deaths has reached 30,712,” the TASS official said.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Iran has reached 534 631, RT specifies.
The day before, 252 patients were recorded in Iran who died from infection, writes REGNUM.
The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, began at the end of December last year. The Chinese city of Wuhan became the hotbed of infection. For several months, the disease has spread to more than 210 countries of the world. On March 11, WHO declared a coronavirus pandemic.
