A Washington state man has been arrested after selling a vaccine he created in his personal lab. He claimed his vaccine could fight COVID-19.

Johnny Stine, 56, has been charged with selling products illegally. The price for a dose ranged between $ 400 and $ 1,000, reports the New York Daily News.
“Untested and potentially dangerous, the accused injected people with an unknown substance that he said was a vaccine against COVID-19,” said prosecutor Brian T Moran.
He says Stine had no conscience for taking advantage of the fears of the people to extract money from his victims.

A US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigator first approached Stine last March, as the pandemic began to wreak havoc in the United States.
The accused then told the officer that he had a vaccine to fight cancer that he had modified to fight the new coronavirus.
The investigator continued his investigation to the point where the accused offered to make the trip to immunize members of the officer’s family.
Even though the government asked Stine to stop selling his vaccine, but it continued.
At least one person who was inoculated with Stine has been hospitalized after contracting COVID-19.
If found guilty, he could spend up to a year in prison.
