A young chess player from Kaluga defeated a child prodigy from Moscow

A delegation of pupils from the Kaluga Sports School No. 5 MBU took part in the rapid game tournament of the Pedagogical Chess Union in Moscow at the Izmailovsky Kremlin stage. As a result, according to the Chess Federation of the Kaluga Region, the young Kaluga woman became the winner.

Kaluga at the tournament was represented by the champions of the Kaluga region in shakhmat Anna Okruzhnova (participated in the girls’ category under 13 years old) and Vasily Murashko (boys under 11 years old). Anna scored 6 points out of 7 and took the absolute first place among the players born in 2010 and younger.

She has five wins and two draws. It is noteworthy that she managed to beat even the famous prodigy Misha Osipov, who became the hero of the TV show “Best of All”.

Vasily decided to test his strength in the open tournament. There was a mixed cast, adults, including international masters, played along with the children. He got equal number of victories and defeats, so as a result he ended up in the middle of the tournament table.
