A video was published on the Web with the moment of the arrest of an Islamist who was planning to commit a terrorist attack in the Moscow region. The video clip on November 25 was at the disposal of the REN TV channel.
Law enforcement officers detained in the Vladimir region a member of the cell of the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” banned in Russia – a citizen of one of the countries of Central Asia.
The footage provided by the Federal Security Service (FSB) shows the arrest of a criminal, as well as the conduct of searches at the place of residence of suspects.
Among the things confiscated from the militant was a homemade bomb, as well as documents from a terrorist organization’s cell.
According to the FSB Public Relations Center, “the purpose of the cell was also to attract new members to the ranks of terrorists and to finance terrorism.”
The investigation and operational measures are ongoing.
Earlier, on November 6, the territorial department of the FSB in the Republic of Adygea announced the arrest of a native of Central Asia involved in the activities of the terrorist organization Katiba Tauhid wal-Jihad, banned in Russia, which was going to arrange terrorist attacks in Volgograd.
The detainee published audio and video recordings included in the federal list of extremist materials in his account on the Odnoklassniki social network, calling for terrorist attacks in Russia, the murder of law enforcement officers and those who do not profess Islam.
Criminal cases were opened against the man under Part 2 of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the fact of public calls to carry out terrorist and extremist activities.
