In the Moscow region, police officers detained a man suspected of extortion of 100 thousand rubles. This was announced on Friday, January 15, by the portal “Ministry of Internal Affairs Media” with reference to the press service of the regional GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
According to law enforcement officers, the incident took place in Podolsk in the Klimovsk microdistrict. The malefactor, under the threat of violence, put a 29-year-old man in a taxi and took him to the country house of his friend in the village of Luchinskoe. There he inflicted bodily harm on the victim and demanded to transfer 100 thousand rubles to his bank account. After fulfilling the request, the victim was released.
A 28-year-old visitor from the near abroad was detained on suspicion of committing this crime. During the search, a part of the stolen funds was found and seized from him. The detainee said that he wanted to scare the victim, since the latter repeatedly showed signs of attention to his wife.
A criminal case was initiated under the article on extortion. The suspect has been taken into custody, writes the Moscow city news agency.
In October 2020, it was reported that the online groom deceived single women in Moscow for more than 25 million rubles. Investigators established the circumstances of ten episodes of extortion, in which the man was involved.
