The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a warning that in Yaroslavl, cities and towns that are on the banks of the Volga and its tributaries in the next few, namely from May 1 to May 3, a rise in water and flooding is expected. This will happen due to the fact that the Rybinsk hydroelectric complex again began a massive discharge of water. Due to the rains, the reservoir overflows. To prevent the water level from reaching critical levels, water will be dumped. At the moment, three sections are open.

On the evening of April 30, the water level in Yaroslavl reached 86.5 meters in the Baltic system. The water came close to the lower tier of the Volga Embankment. And flooded the floodplain islands at the mouth of Kotorosl.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the level of 88 meters will be critical. The situation is aggravated by incessant rains, because of them, in some areas of the region, the rise of rivers can be sharp.
