A resident of the Roslavl district decided to earn extra money by illegally cutting 20 trees in the forest

The duty unit of the intermunicipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Roslavlsky” received information from the regional forestry that the fact of illegal logging near the village of Yekimovichi was discovered.

It turned out that an unknown person cut down more than 20 aspen, birch and oak trees. The police seized tree cuts and footprints.

Police officers checked the sawmills closest to the site. On one of them, in the village of Starye Yekimovichi, fragments of cut trees were found.

The district police officer later identified the person and whereabouts of the man who had brought the trees to the sawmill.

It turned out to be a 45-year-old resident of the village of Yekimovichi who does not work anywhere. He said that he did not have permission to cut trees, but nevertheless cut down a few and handed it over to the sawmill, where the wood was going to be processed.

He did not manage to get money for the work done.

As a result of illegal actions, the forest fund suffered damage in the amount of over 32,000 rubles.

A criminal case was initiated under the article “Illegal felling of forest plantations”. Now he faces up to two years in prison.
