Trusting a stranger, a pensioner from Kostomuksha lost a large sum. The woman went to the police.

As it turned out, a 58-year-old woman from Kostomuksha recently sold an apartment outside Karelia. The money received from the sale is about 1.5 million rubles, the pensioner kept in a bank account. Until the moment when she was called by a man who introduced himself as a bank employee. This was reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karelia.

The caller warned the woman. According to him, unknown attackers tried to gain access to her savings. The interlocutor immediately warned that they had a long conversation ahead of them, so the Kostomuksha woman simply needed an external battery for her mobile phone. Otherwise, at the most inopportune moment, the phone may be discharged.

The woman bought a much-needed item, and then followed another advice of the “bank employee”: she cashed all her money that was stored in the accounts, and then, under the strict guidance of the interlocutor, transferred it to various subscriber numbers using an ATM. However, having received the money, the fraudster immediately disappeared and stopped answering calls.

A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud.
