A mother from Chelyabinsk told REN TV on Friday, October 23, why she faked the abduction of her seven-month-old child.

According to a 24-year-old girl, her son fell seriously ill some time ago, after which he died. The mother claims that she got scared, took the carrier for the children, put the baby’s body there and went outside. There she threw the baby into the Miass River, after which she decided to take a taxi.

The girl caught a taxi on the Metallurgists Highway. When she left the car and went to the house, she decided to invent a criminal. She imagined that an unknown intruder jumped up from behind, pulled the hood and ran away with the baby.

Later, the taxi driver told the TV channel that the passenger was carrying, but no sounds were heard from there, which might seem suspicious.

The incident became known earlier on Friday. The mother stated that when she got out of the taxi and walked to the house, an unknown person pulled her from behind by the hood, she fell and only then found that the carrier with the child was missing. The woman also said that she lost her smartphone and keys, after which she asked a bystander to call the police.

Vladimir Shishkov, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Directorate of the ICR for the region, told REN TV that, according to preliminary information, the girl faked the abduction of a baby, whose body was actually thrown into the Miass River.

He added that a criminal case was initiated into the death of a child under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “The murder of a minor or other person, knowingly for the guilty being in a helpless state, as well as involving the kidnapping of a person.”
