A passenger car fell through the ice in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. A pregnant woman and a small child were killed, and four more people in the car survived. This was announced on Friday, November 20, at the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to police, a Niva Chevrolet car fell through the ice on the Severnaya Sosva River, 12 kilometers downstream from the village of Sosva.

“As a result, a pregnant woman born in 1991 and … a girl born in 2020 died,” a representative of the TASS press service was quoted as saying.

The interlocutor of the agency added that the deceased was in the 32nd week of pregnancy, she was going to give birth to the hospital.

Other people who were in the car: a 29-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman, as well as 10-year-old and 6-year-old girls managed to get out.

Now an investigative and operational group is working at the scene.

On November 18, a woman and a three-year-old child were killed in a head-on collision of two cars in the Tver region.
