In the Pskov region, they plan to establish an Electoral System Day. Governor of the region Mikhail Vedernikov made such a proposal at the II Forum of youth election commissions of the Pskov region on November 27.
According to the Pskov Information Agency, the head of the region noted that 5.5 thousand people are involved in the work of the electoral system of the region. About 2 thousand more citizens are in the personnel reserve.
The new holiday is planned for the last Sunday in September. Vedernikov expressed hope that the initiative will be supported by the deputies of the regional parliament.
On November 26, it became known that the State Duma rejected the bill, which was proposed to make December 31 a day off. The draft law was submitted to the State Duma at the end of November 2019.
In total, in 2021, Russians will have seven holiday periods: from 1 to 10 January, from 21 to 23 February, from 6 to 8 March, from 1 to 3 May, from 8 to 10 May, from 12 to 14 June and from 4 to November 7.
