Due to the coronavirus pandemic, profits of metropolitan shopping centers fell by 25%. This was announced by the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin on Thursday, July 30.

“Shopping centers really sank by a quarter due to the fact that people began to visit them less, they began to buy more goods and services remotely,” the mayor said on the air of the Russia 24 channel.

At the same time, in the sphere of trade and services, about which it was said that there was a “general catastrophe”, profits even increased compared to the same period last year, the mayor said.

Earlier on July 30, Sobyanin said that the incidence of coronavirus in Moscow is likely to have reached the lowest possible value and will not decrease in the coming weeks. A decline in incidence to zero is unlikely, he said.

“In the coming weeks, the same picture will continue as in the previous month. That is, we will be in the corridor from 650 to 700, plus or minus 50, ”Sobyanin said.
