In Germany, the number of new cases of coronavirus increased by 4,058
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 4,058 – this is the highest rate since April. Compared with the previous day (2 828) increased by 1 230 people.
As of Thursday, October 8, 310,144 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 9,578. The R value over 4 days is 1.1.
It is estimated that there are 30,966 active cases, that is, currently infected people. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (9,578) and the estimated 269,600 recovered from all ever infected.
According to the Intensive Care Register, 470 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents 1.55 percent of the more than 30,300 intensive care beds in Germany.
