What is one thing you wish someone had told you when you were in high school?
In high school a lot changes for everyone, and there is both growth and regression in people. I wish that someone had told me that the decisions and interests that I have could still be my interests years later, and that I would not outgrow everything that I had created as my individuality.
Every idea that I had is important, and doing things that are not just homework is important.
Do you think that there is an age someone should be for better success in business?
I think that the earlier you start, the more time you have to learn as you go. Maybe a high school student doesn’t know everything to start a business, but by doing something small they can learn a lot, and if you start a business in your 20s or your 30s, you will have different strengths than if you start one in your 40s when you have learned and have more experience to pull from.
The best age for succeeding in business is the age that you are now. When you feel ready, that’s when it’s time.
If you were to start again, what is one thing you would do differently?
I would get more help from people who knew more than I did. I did not know who to ask or where to look for help with things, or what people would be able to teach me the things that I needed to know.
How would you decide if an idea is worth pursuing or not?
Every idea is worth pursuing. The question is when to stop.
If you are losing money with no hope of gaining it back, even if the idea works out, then it is time to stop. If it is hurting the environment or your family, then it is time to step away and consider what is important. We need to make the planet better and find ways to do things that protect the environment, so anything harmful needs to stop and other ideas should be found.
Write down your ideas and if you can’t look into them more now, then look back later. Each new idea has a seed that will grow something good when it is watered. Hard work can make almost anything happen, but you need that one idea first, one new way to do something, or to make something, or communicate, and that can grow into anything with the right support.
