On Sunday, August 9, a major accident occurred in the center of Kostroma.
According to the traffic police, at about 16:30, a 45-year-old woman driver of a Lexus car, not noticing that the red traffic light was on, drove to the intersection of Prospekt Mira and Marshal Novikov Street, where she collided with a Lada Granta car. After that, the lady, apparently frightened, pressed the gas even harder, and her luxury car crashed into a metal power pole.
As a result of the accident, two ladies suffered, the culprit of the accident herself and the 36-year-old passenger of Lada. They are both hospitalized. The driver of a domestic passenger car and his 8-year-old daughter got off with a strong fright.
The traffic police are conducting an administrative investigation into the incident.
