The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand in an interview with NSN on Thursday, September 17, spoke about the weather in the Moscow region in the coming days.
According to the forecaster, warmth returned to the capital region for one day thanks to warm air masses from Turkey, the air on Thursday, September 17, can warm up to +22 degrees. Together with the heat, however, precipitation and thunderstorms are expected. In this regard, Wilfand urged not to confuse one warm day with “Indian summer”, which usually lasts longer.
In this case, already on Friday, September 18, a sharp cooling is expected in the region due to the northern wind flows. Cloudy and rainy weather is predicted at night, and during the day the air will not warm up more than +11 – + 13 degrees. The forecaster stressed that this figure is close to the multiyear norm.
The meteorologist noted that similar weather will continue in the region over the weekend, only intense rains will stop. The weather at the beginning of next week will be determined by the anticyclone, and the temperature will gradually rise.
“A slight cold snap expected in the coming days is the forerunner of Indian summer. First, we need to feel the cold snap, so that later we can enjoy the warmth, ”said Wilfand.
Earlier on September 17, Wilfand listed the regions in which abnormally warm weather will soon be established. In particular, we are talking about the north of the Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts, where the thermometers in the daytime will rise to the level of +12 – +14 degrees, specifies the TV channel “Zvezda”. Also, abnormal heat is predicted in the Primorsky Territory and the Amur Region.
As noted by the TV channel “360”, the old “Indian summer” in Moscow should come after September 23-24. It is expected that the air will warm up to +16 degrees after a five-day “capital cold”.
