Warsaw law enforcers last night detained 15 protesters against abortion. Sylvester Marczak, spokesman for the Warsaw police commandant’s office, told about this on October 23.

The protest actions began after the day before, the Polish Constitutional Court ruled unconstitutional abortions for medical reasons.

“A total of 15 people were detained. One of them has already been released, “RIA Novosti quotes Marchak.

A law enforcement spokesman recalled that during the coronavirus pandemic, all public events are prohibited in the country.

“Unfortunately, we were dealing with a lot of aggression. Stones were thrown at the police. Physical force and gas were used. The use of special equipment was justified, ”Marchak said.

He specified that materials concerning 89 people will be sent to court. The violators were also issued 35 fines.

When the decision of the Constitutional Court of Poland comes into force, abortion will be allowed only because of rape, incest or a threat to the health and life of a woman. The campaign for a complete ban on abortion has been gaining momentum in Poland since 2016.
