Volgodonsk will check data on the death of a child due to poisoning in a cafe

The Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Rostov Region are checking information about the death of a two-year-old child from acute food poisoning in the afternoon in a cafe in the city of Volgodonsk, representatives of departments told reporters on April 30.

“The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Rostov Region have organized a pre-investigation check, all the circumstances of the incident are being established,” said a representative of the regional Investigative Committee.

According to the representative of the regional prosecutor’s office, the supervisory authority is checking “the reasons, circumstances and conditions of what happened, the completeness of the fulfillment of their functions by parents, as well as bodies and institutions of the system for the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency.”

Earlier on Friday, local media reported that on April 24, a two-year-old child died of acute food poisoning in Volgodonsk. It became known that on the day of his death, the child was with his parents in a cafe, where he was ordered fries. After eating, the baby became ill, he was hospitalized, but the doctors were powerless.

On April 26, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the death of a three-year-old boy in Kazan. The child fell out of the window of an apartment on the fifth floor. The parents took the boy to his grandmother, and she, in turn, went to a relative and left him with a 13-year-old teenager.
