Vandals in the Canadian city of Vaughn again desecrated a monument to former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau, father of incumbent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The CTV channel showed footage of the injured statue. Unidentified persons painted it with white paint and wrote Pedo (pedophile) in English on the pedestal.

The mayor of the city, Maurizio Bevilacqua, condemned the act of vandalism and said that he was upset about the incident. Local police have launched an investigation.

It is noted that public utilities workers have already cleared the monument.

The previous attack on the monument took place in June, when the monument was doused with black paint.

On August 13, Canadian media reported that Justin Trudeau and members of his government were increasingly receiving threats from citizens. So, according to law enforcement officers, from January to July 2020, about 130 threats were received against Trudeau and members of his cabinet of ministers, while there were 100 of them in the same period of 2019.
