US military base in Baghdad comes under fire

A US military base located at the Baghdad International Airport came under fire. This was reported on Friday, April 23, by al-Sumaria TV channel, citing sources from Iraqi security agencies.

According to the information received by the publication, three missiles were fired at the American base. One of them fell near the runway, two more – not far from the central prison.

There was also information about one wounded Iraqi citizen due to shelling.

The flamethrower is believed to be located west of Baghdad.

On April 7, it became known about the agreement between the United States and Iraq on the withdrawal of American troops and foreign military bases.

As part of the agreement, the American side pledged to withdraw most of its military from Iraqi territory, and Iraqi troops will be engaged in the fight against the IS group banned in Russia.
