US intends to hold China accountable

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held talks with Yang Jiechi, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, head of the office of the CPC Central Committee’s Foreign Affairs Commission. After that, he said that Washington would hold the PRC accountable “for the threat to stability in the Indo-Pacific region.”

According to him, the United States and partners will “stand up for human rights,” including in Xinjiang and Hong Kong.

“The United States will work with its allies and partners to protect our common values ​​and interests to hold China accountable for its efforts to threaten stability in the Indo-Pacific and undermine its norms-based international system,” the State Department said.

Blinken called on the PRC to “join the international community in condemning” the coup in Myanmar.
