Twitter pinned 300,000 tweets related to the US presidential election and deemed potentially misleading, in two weeks, or 0.2% of all messages posted on the network on the subject, according to a blog post published Thursday.

These warnings were issued between October 27 and November 11, a week before and a week after the US election of November 3, won by Joe Biden against Donald Trump.
Of these 300,000 tweets reported, 456 were banned from sharing, commenting or likes, said the legal and political manager of Twitter, Vijaya Gadde, in a message published this message.
She points out that around 74% of people who saw these posts saw them after they were flagged as misleading, and the sharing of such tweets has, as a result, declined by around 29%.
It is not specified how many tweets were hidden.
During this period, Twitter also posted preventative messages on its subscribers’ homepages in the United States, which “were viewed 389 million times” and “reminded people that the election results were likely to be delayed and that voting by mail was safe and legitimate ”, underlines Vijaya Gadde.
Nearly half of Donald Trump’s tweets were reported by the social network in the days following the election. The president assured, without proof, that he had won and that there was massive fraud.
