The press service of the regional administration reported that in the fourth quarter of 2020 (that is, for October-November-December), unemployment in the Kostroma region decreased by 36.5 percent. The indicator is encouraging – it clearly follows that the region’s economy is emerging from the spring-summer “coronavirus pit”, labor demand is recovering, and the regional employment service is working effectively and helping people find new jobs.
But … not without a fly in the ointment, and now – evil tongues and now argue that such a rapid decline in unemployment is due not so much to economic growth, as to checks of “fictitious unemployed” who worked before, but continued to be listed in the employment service to receive benefits …
