The Ukrainian government dismissed Andriy Kobolev from the post of head of the Naftogaz Ukraine company. This was announced on April 28 by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the Servant of the People faction Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk.

In her Telegram channel, she wrote that such a decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet.

No official information has yet been received from the press service of the Ministry of Energy and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. At the same time, it is known that this issue was not considered at the open part of the government meeting.

Kobolev said that he learned about his dismissal from the news. On his Facebook page, he wrote that he could not comment on this situation yet. At the same time, he clarified that he did not write any letter of resignation.

Kobolev has been with the company since 2002. His first position was chief specialist of the Department of Economics and Pricing Policy. He was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz in March 2014.

On February 13, it became known that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine opened a criminal case on the fact of possible waste of funds and fraud by officials of Naftogaz and Ukrtransgaz.

Earlier, on February 2, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party and ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko asked the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada to support the resolution on the dismissal of Kobolev. In her opinion, such a move will help solve the problem with gas prices in Ukraine by lowering them.

At the same time, it was reported yesterday that the Ukrainians are preparing for a new increase in gas prices. So, some citizens from the beginning of May will be forced to transfer to annual tariffs, which in some cases are almost twice as high as usual. It is expected that the change will affect everyone who uses gas for domestic needs.
