Apparently, the Kostroma regional administration took the forecasts of weather forecasters as seriously as possible regarding the frosts approaching the region.
According to these forecasts, the air temperature can drop to minus 27-30 degrees by the evening of January 11. In connection with the cold snap, the governor of the region, Sergei Sitnikov, ordered to prepare all municipal services and units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to eliminate the possible consequences of a sharp cold snap. The governor asked to pay special attention to the condition of houses with stove heating – there, in frosty conditions, people often turn on electric heating devices, which leads to overloads of power grids and creates the possibility of fires.
