The words of US President Donald Trump about the postponement of the elections were “rhetorical”, said the campaign headquarters of the current head of state on Thursday, July 30.
“The President only raises the question of the chaos created by the Democrats, insisting that all voting should take place by mail,” – quotes the address of Trump’s headquarters spokesman Hogan Gidley “RIA Novosti”.
As the head of the White House said earlier Thursday, the proposed mail vote in the face of the coronavirus could give “the most inaccurate results.” He asked on Twitter if it would be possible to postpone the voting date until voters could “vote correctly and safely.”
At the same time, the Republican stressed that representatives of the Democratic Party talk about foreign influence on the elections, but they know that voting by mail remains the easy way to do this.
Currently, former US Vice President Joseph Biden is ahead of incumbent Donald Trump in voter polls in three strategically important states for the incumbent.
The U.S. presidential election is due on November 3, 2020.
