US President Donald Trump explained his statement about the possibility of postponing the election with a desire to draw attention to the disadvantages of voting by mail. He gave his comments on Thursday, July 30, at a press briefing at the White House.

“I wanted to explain to people, but it doesn’t even require much explanation … that what happens in November will be a mess,” he said.

The results due to voting by mail may become known only after “a week, or a month, or years,” the American leader added, and he considers this situation unacceptable.

As Trump said earlier, Democratic officials talk about foreign influence in the elections, but they know that mail-order voting remains the easy way to do this.

Currently, former US Vice President Joseph Biden is ahead of incumbent Donald Trump in voter polls in three strategically important states for the incumbent.

The U.S. presidential election is due on November 3, 2020.
