Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya called on citizens to renounce violence, since the country does not need “blood on the city streets.” She said this in a video message on the eve of her participation in the presidential elections.
“We are peaceful people,” she pointed out. According to her, the strength of Belarusians is in unity, as well as in love for the country and their families. The video was published on the website of Tikhanovskaya’s campaign headquarters.
Earlier, the Belarusian opposition circulated an action plan on the day of the presidential elections in Belarus on August 9. Thus, the gathering of protesters is scheduled for ten in the evening on Pobediteley Avenue in Minsk near the “Minsk – Hero City” stele, as well as on the main squares of the country’s cities.
