The restriction on the number of viewers, which comes into force in Moscow on November 13, will not affect those who have bought tickets to the Bolshoi Theater before that date. On November 11, the head of the press service of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (Bolshoi Theater) Katerina Novikova told Izvestia about this.

“Not only for the New Year’s performances of the Nutcracker ballet, which are traditionally sold in advance, but for all performances, we will be able to accept the audience in the volume in which tickets were purchased to date,” she said.

Novikova said that the general director of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin called the decision very reasonable.

Earlier on Wednesday, an order from the Ministry of Culture of Russia was published, according to which subordinate Moscow theaters and concert halls are required to keep the validity of tickets purchased before November 13. On the same day, the Ministry of Culture instructed subordinate theaters, cinemas and concert organizations in Moscow to reduce the number of tickets sold from November 13 to January 15.

On the eve of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree on tightening restrictive measures against theaters and cinemas in the city due to the situation with the spread of coronavirus. Under the new rules, the number of spectators that can be present in theaters and cinemas will be reduced to 25% of the capacity of the hall.
