First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation Vyacheslav Lysakov from United Russia will propose to the Committee for Control and Regulation to monetize transport costs in the fall session in order to save budget funds. This was announced on Thursday, August 6, by the Federal News Agency.

According to the parliamentarian, huge amounts of money are being directed to the regions for transport costs, and a lot is being spent on the Duma’s vehicle fleet. “Expenses go not only for the maintenance of cars, but also for the salaries of drivers, accounting. It would be better to give out a small part of these expenses as part of monetization to the deputies, and then we would save a lot of money, ”Lysakov said. He believes that the deputies could be given 20-30% of the annual limit.

The deputy also noted that the problem is that the services of official dealers are used when purchasing cars.

Lysakov stressed that the cost of original spare parts is much higher than that of independent sellers. “If we count all the components, then we get fantastic spending. And this is very important in today’s difficult economic conditions, ”he stressed.

The parliamentarian also proposes to abandon the services of the so-called accelerating machines, which are used in Moscow by deputies and senators. The Office of the President of the Russian Federation provides both chambers of parliament with cars provided on call to move around the capital.

In the Federation Council, there are also proposals for monetary compensation for the use of personal cars. This was told by the head of his profile committee Vyacheslav Timchenko. According to him, according to the current government decree for civil servants, compensation for the use of personal vehicles can range from 1.5 thousand to 2 thousand rubles.

“You yourself understand that you can probably only ride a bike for such a sum for a month. Therefore, until the Cabinet changes its regulations, it is premature to talk about monetizing transport services for deputies and senators, ”Timchenko said.

He noted that if the volume of costs is divided by the number of members of both chambers of parliament, then this amount will be much higher.

On August 5, it was reported that the Ministry of Finance of Russia proposed to cut the costs of maintaining the State Duma and the Federation Council by 1.9 billion rubles in 2021-2023, RT reports.

It is proposed to reduce expenses for the State Duma in 2021 by 2.9% (378 million rubles), in 2022 – by 4.5% (577 million), in 2023 – by 2% (256 million).

And the Ministry of Finance proposes to reduce spending on the Federation Council by 3% (217 million rubles) in 2021, by 4.6% (338 million) in 2022, and by 2.4% (178 million) in 2023.

As a result, funding for both chambers may amount to about 7 billion rubles a year.
